annnnddd.. I'm back.

I have been M.I.A lately with some recent events, buuutt with Perth Fashion Festival coming up how could I resist a good blog posting.  I have missed the world of Blogger and especially checking up what all you fabulous people have been up to!

At the moment I am in a bit of a rut.  As a child I thought I had my life sorted - Represent Australia/Olympics/World championships and the lot, work in the sporting industry, find a man, get married, etc, etc.  As it seems that hasn't worked out as originally planned so far and I thought I had come to terms with that and that I would ride the wave as it comes.

However, lately my brain has taken over and I haven't been feeling like myself.  I am second guessing everything I am doing, I am telling myself that I should have figured it all out by now but then I realised that I am only 23 and maybe I am trying to rush things and rush life and I really shouldn't be.

Well I'm getting back on track now.  I am totally in love with fashion and experimenting with different looks which was never in the plan when I was growing up.  And I am totally in love with photography and travelling which also was never a front runner in my favourite hobbies.  I guess keeping an open mind is the key to living and full filling life to the maximum and that's what life is about right?

Having a Croc of a time at Matso's Brewery

Asking the locals places to see in Broome, Matso's Brewery was a popular suggestion so we decided to check it out and taste some local beer, ciders and have a bite to eat before braving the Malcolm Douglas Wildlife and Crocodile Park.  We were give a free coupon for testers with our camel ride so we decided to take advantage and find out favour drop to tantalize our taste buds and warm out bellies (and hearts too!).  Within our tasters my favourite by far was the ginger beer, closely followed by the Mango infused beer.  We also had a mango cider, and it was refreshing and tasty.  Kamahli and I shared a mixed plate of Turkish Bread, homemade garlic hummus (which was amazing), smoked kangaroo meat, honey ham and mussels.  The entire place had a friendly vibe, and the staff ensured you were looked after and of course had a full drink at all times!

OUTFIT: Minkpink 'Hakuna Matata' muscle tank / Sportsgirl straw hat / Tensity limited edition broken heart faced goldern watch / Dotti Sunglasses

Then it was onto the Wildlife and Crocodile Park just outside of the Broome town centre.  It was established by Malcolm Douglas; an iconic croc/animal enthusiast.  As a little girl, I remember travelling up to Broome from Karratha and the crocodile park sticks in my memory as one of my favourite places.  With the passing of Douglas in 2010, the crocodile park I remembered has been moved and the park now has over 5000 crocodiles and alligators, as well as wallabies, Kangaroo's, dingoes and other Australia Wildlife.  It is very informative and a popular tourist destination.  Make sure you get there for the feedings and information sessions!!

OUTFIT: Broome Salvo thrifted 'Wolf' top $7!! / Hurley tattered shorts / Myers Sunglasses / Target Sandals / Sportsgirl Straw hat

Remembering the good times and producing the awesome times to remember. My favourite times :)

Broome Dreaming Part 1 (My humps, my humps, my humps, my humps)

My two week holiday has come to an end.. and I finally have some solid Internet back (Dodgy and lack of Internet can be blamed for no posts!).  I have always loved the Kimberley and the Pilbara having lived there when I was in primary school.  I remember frequenting Broome and Coral Bay, and becoming addicted to the sun and the ocean.  Maybe this is where my constant need for travel stemmed from?

Broome is a bit of everything I love - It's chilled, it's mostly hot and sunny (apparently it has had more rainfall then the wet season as of late!) , it has friendly people and is surrounded by the beach.  Perfecto.  We stayed at the 'Beaches of Broome' a well known backpackers that felt more like a hotel rather then a hostel.  The cleanliness was amazing and the outdoor pool was defiantly a bonus.

Our first activity was the all so touristy camel riding along Cable Beach.  My outfit needed to be comfy, and I kind of felt that I needed to wear something along the lines of 'Arabian nights' since we were riding a camel and all!!

OUTFIT: Dotti 'Social Butterfly' muscle tank / Finders Keepers Harlem Pants / Sportsgirl 'Electra' Sunglasses

Keep tuned for the rest of the trip!  And get out there and see the world.

It's pretty amazing :)

When life gives you lemons.... literally

MinkPink Sunglasses / Dotti Lost City Skull Jumper / Cotton on Cut-Off Button up / Nobody Skinny Jeans / Savannah Leather Ankle Boot / Reid Cycle Vintage Ladies Bicycle

I love this new knit I bought from Dotti, and I also saw about three other people that love it too when I was on break today - Oops!!  We were all wearing the knit in totally different ways, which makes me think in a few posts time I might do the whole cliche 'Where 'item x' three completely different ways'.  My creative juices have been flowing lately (creative juices?? ohhh sounds so wrong but you get the gist), I work in a mens' funky clothing shop and I actually really love the clothes they produce.  So whilst doing a whole lot of nothing, I began brainstorming.  I will do certain challenges every few weeks or so.  One will include "Lady looks like a Dude - that's trying to look like a lady in a Dude's clothing challenge", "The Kmart challenge" (or for those who don't know Kmart, think of it something like Walmart), "The Ombre challenge", and many more to come.  Can you help me think of any?? Please comment your suggestions - I'm pretty competitive, this could get crazy!

Outfit today: Double Denim, Knit, and chunky biker boots.  Need I say more?

P.S: In my household my housemates and I cook for each other one night a week.  It makes the week a lot more cheaper, a lot more fun to have family dinners and critiquing each other's meals (master chef inspired of course).  Look how cute one of my housemates is with her Japanese presentation/food setting from last nights dinner:

Spots and Shadows

/ Dotti Glasses / Maybellene 'Coral Fever' lipstick / Otto Mode Spotted Vest Top / Thrifted High-Waisted Wide Legged Pants / Wittner Platform Brogues /

Today is my first outfit post and I had to do it with some good ole self timer action - i don't think they turned out half bad.  It's funny when you look into your backyard and start seeing creative locations for photo shoots.  I love shadows - they are mysterious and and can really shine the beauty of colour. The platform Wittner brogues featured are my most favourite treasured shoes, and man have they served me well!!  Being that I am already 6 foot most ask why I where such things?  My reply... why not?  They make your legs long(er), they are comfy to go out dancing in, go shopping in, I have even been known to have a bit of a trot in them.  Practical, classic and modern all in one.

And in other news - I leave for Broome in three days with my housemate (flying up and driving back).  I can feel a once in a lifetime opportunity coming, and I'm anticipating every second of it!!
Go on... get out there!  Where is your next trip??
